Ok now I realize the difference between blogs and posts! haha, hmm today I'm not too sure what to say in this post I don't really have a topic in mind so it will be kinda a random post. In my WS class we watched this amazing movie called Iron Jawed Angels about Alice Paul and the National Women's Party's fight for the vote in the 19teen's. It was so emotional and coloful with a sort of modern feel to it. Hilary Swank, Francis O'Conner, Angelica Houston, and McDreamy-Patrick Dempsy starred in it-and completely captured their characters. So I much recommend it.
What else, what else?? The sexist quote of the day provided by one of my favorite websites feministing.com:
Former state Rep. Sue Burmeister from Georgia in a debate about why women who want abortions should have sit through a state-written lecture about how terrible it is and wait 24 hours before obtaining the procedure: "Women are intelligent, but when you're emotional, you're not thinking with the right part of your brain."
Book for the day: America's Women By: Gail Collins. 400 years of womens history that is way more interesting then any history book I've read-it's not a thriller but it will keep you turning the page. Also reading the Symposium By: Plato-a short book of dialouge and speeches about love, this is also an interesting quick read.
Also I'm hoping to have some writings on the issues of the campaign when we get closer to the election.
I think that's all for now I'll write more later if I think of something...bye for now!
